Too close

Holding from the fairest skies
We are two merry stars
Broken to the close skies
Close in the dark of the night
Moving too close still, to make
A wishful night for little girls
Glowing with earthly love
Breaking loose away from reality
From the depth of our imagination
As a sculptor for just a day
Sculpturing your heart: shielded in stone
Cracking into beats only for me

Colliding in our space comfort
Burning to meet our power like sparring
Too close for comfort
To find galactic healing

As a goldsmith for just a day
Making you a golden statue
In a glittering world’s display
Crying out to God
To make its beats eternal
So as it would be mine
To keep forever imperishable
With your body in fire
If I could have a wish may be
I would ask for an iron heart
Just so your fire could smelt me
That no other could touch unless you

If I could build myself a whole city
With nations fighting just to own you
I would make your other name city
as you will be my capital city among cities

Daring the earthquake

“Eeh sheeh, eeh sheeh” everyone shouting
Kigezi calling upon Bakiga dancing in its prime
Eeh sheeh, eeh sheeh” they shouted earth scaring
As the horrid night couldn’t save it this time
Kigezi dares to tame the earthquake
Jumping over the ground, stumps hard stippling
As the drums laugh at the helpless earthquake
Upon the winds they were jumping
Only to land vibrating with humanly tremors
As if daring the earthquake

For the first time, without murmurs
With flashes cheering the dancing quake
The moon watches astonished
To see motile humanity daring the earthquake
Provoking the elephants to come out scared
Everyone bouncing like a ball
Kigezi dancing in honour of her ancestors
That once de-tasted earthquakes
Times over again; feet upon the other
Threating the earth never to quake again

With an army of hills, in crumbles
The earth fighting back with land slides
Without moss but to gather Bakonjo houses
Pouring them into the valleys in pride
With mountain Rwenzori not loud
Hiding its anger away from the Bakonjo
Shyly covering its face with clouds
In warning to the Bakonjo
As if some day it would roll down more rocks
If they ever dared the earthquake, in its alley

Kigezi wondrous ankles crippled without socks
With a dance that could squash hills into valleys
Eeh sheeh, eeh sheeh” scolding the earth in pain
Stones dust squashed, only here once were amabale.
Eeh sheeh” they said: meaning “never do it again”
Stumping at the heart of Kabale
Stretching all over Kabale at the edge of Kigezi
As he rejoices the dare of the earthquake
Times no longer horrid to the sons of Magezi
The dare that tamed the earthquake

Décor of my night

A day loses brightness to the night
Dragged awake in its dreams,
In a lead to make something great
Most dreams fulfilled while awake
With a touch of darkness in the sky
It is ten o’clock; with almost everyone in bed
Glowing stones thrown all over the night
To give a bright decor of my night skies

So much in love with the fourth hour of a night
Losing sniff from the track heading home
Wandering dogs disappear within the dark
Staying awake with poetic wonders

With acoustical vibration of rock beats
Explosively playing beats within my ears
You paint my chest with heart beats
Of a mellow wonder as I watch you in the skies
Defined by what we were meant to be
Holding you in my thoughts with motherly comfort
That cuddles her baby like she’s just given birth
To find solace within your cotton comfort

I make a little world on earth of my own
Stepping up to the night in a warm bed
With almost every hectic one gone to bed
Stretching mileage across the night

With a story narrated so real in a dream
Seeing dawn shed light on our new days
Of what is never coming back as we love
Living every day without regret by your side

You are

With just a few words you teach us to live
You are my peace
Sometimes when people may not relate
You are the reason I can’t quit
You are my knowledge and wisdom
You make reality of my trace dreams
Lord, you are my faith and hope
You make melodious sound of worldly noise
Lord, you are my joy
You make brightness of my dullness
You are my love
Making greatness of my weakness
When I was tired to make any more attempts
You are my strength
You make joy of all my sadness
You make beauty of imaginary scenery
You are the air I breathe
You make melody of my voice
Into heart felt songs
You make leaders of mere servants
You make warriors of frail and young toddlers
You are my courage

You makes normal of all abnormality

A coup friend’état

The rebel armies drew in stronger military
A London derby at the heart of England,
More like a football coup d’état
But I was chasing for your heart, my beats little
Africa was scared for a coup d’état
As Arsenal FC was chasing the league title
But I was waging a coup friend’état

African army generals were fighting for peace
Fans all over the world watched premier league
Just friends, I wanted to take it to the next level
Shocked stuck in three wars in one moment
I wept for me, Africa and the rest of the world
For our unborn generations and legendary
Days dramatically changing like coup théâtre

Playing with ball possession like Arsenal
Singing all of me, by John Legend
For a moment I won a ventricle and an artery
Unless Arsenal won this game, the title will be lost
The wars fired in flames with new weaponry
Unless we lost, we shall not die rebels
The rebels had a new strategy

With a new motto, it was fire, fire, fire
All wars with the ones in need, fighting on
Without a certain to give up
Seconds by hours I spent, to create it daily
But to you it was just a mere excitement
For being loved by someone attractive
But always goals win the match

May be I wasn’t good enough for you
I told myself as I put my arsenals down
Without reloading my ammunition
This derby determining Arsenal’s reign
As it was war and football in my veins
Army general enjoying farfetched victory
A loser, I lost my hold to your heart reins

Rough upon tender

Bees and bird flock to taste your beauty
Under the sun, you wailed with thirst
Winds afar from all corner of the universe
Are tempted to kiss your scent
The monsoon quieted by the savannah
Waiting and wishing for science to take its course
Under the rain, swept off your feet
Into the trench floozies you stood no more
Your beauty fading within the mud
Rough upon tender, your petals wizened
Bees and birds fly to find another beauty
Forgetting what once was your beauty
That once drew them forth so lusty
The sky that laid your fate

Yet grooms another beauty floozy

Razzle and the dazzle

In a not far away world
Just around a bedazzled city
Ever like the light, love groomed a razzle
From hearts, sparked electricity
Ever like the bright, she bridled a dazzle
From a bottle, I asked
To sip a life to quench
That from a mind I longed to ask
Such a razzle, you were dazzling in red
That in razzle: I was bedazzled in black

Dazzling with razzle to dazzle forever
Flowing connected like current
That even if a naked inch touched
Together sizzling hot like an electric cable
We would spark a house down
Together fighting like rain and sunshine
Leaving only a bedazzled rainbow
Dazzling in expression of our reconciliation
Leading mar rum and tarmac
Sometimes like tyres and a road dazzlingly

Unable to understand
I lead on like a child learning to walk
The razzle and dazzle
Such a magical combination of
A bedazzlement destined forever like
The real life of beauty and the beast
Calling us, razzle and the dazzle
With the lights down, sharing moment’s best
As you will always be my razzle

As I bedazzle you to make us razzle-dazzle

Such power

There is power in the unseen
Even when you don’t see
The wind is always there blowing
Knowing my God
In my hands I hold such power
It gets the lights blindly trembling
In my head I think such power
That it gets the sun blinking
Knowing how much you love me
In my heart I feel such power
That valleys raise to mountain quarters
Knowing your God in your hands
You will hold such power
Knowing your God in your head
You will think such power
Knowing your God in your heart

You will feel such power
